Glenn M. Monnett Jr.

Glenn M. Monnett Jr., 70, Greencastle, died Monday morning at Heritage Ho use Convalescent Center.
Born June 8, 1927 in Greencastle, he was the son of Glenn M. Sr. and Dorot hy (Goddard) Monnett.
A graduate of Greencastle High School, he was self-employed for several ye ars and was owner and operator of Monnett’s Cafeteria at Cloverdale, retir ing in 1983.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Greencastle, and a former memb er of Greencastle Elks Lodge 1077 where he was a past exalted ruler.

He married Rosalind Fuqua on Sept. 25, 1948. She died Nov. 11, 1997.
Surviving are three sons, Dee Monnett and Craig Monnett, both of Greencast le, and Marc Monnett, Clay City; his step-mother, Maxine Monnett, Greencas tle; a sister, Jackie Morris, Brockport, N.Y.; a brother, Duane Monnett, D allas, Texas; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at N ew Life Baptist Church, Greencastle, with Revs. Bobby Pell and Robert Davi es officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or T he Gideons.
Arrangements are being handled by Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencast le.

He was married to Rosalind (Rose) Fuqua on Sep 25 1948 in Greencastle, Putnam Co., Indiana.(173) Rosalind (Rose) Fuqua was born on Nov 30 1921 in Brazil, Clay Co., IN. She died on Nov 11 1997 in Terre Haute, Vigo Co., IN. The following is from Rosalind's obituary in the November, 13,1997 Braz il Times, Brazil, IN :

Rosalind Fuqua Monnett, 75, of Greencastle died at Columbia Terre Hau te Region-al Hospital Nov. 11, 1997.Born Nov. 30, 1921, in Brazil, she w as the daughter of Ora and Maude Fuqua.
She was a member of theFirst Christian Church inGreencastle. A gradua te of
Brazil High School, she graduated from Saint AnthonySchool of Nursing in 1 946.
She was a nurse at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle until her retirem ent and a longtime member of Florence Nightingale Nursing Organization.
In 1948 she was united in marriage to Glenn Monnett of Greencastle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ivan and Lewi s; and three sisters Ruth, Helen and Mary.Survivors include her husband, t hree sons, Dee Monnett and Craig Monnett of Greencastle and Marc Monne tt of Clay City, several daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and four sisters, Lola Parker of Indianapolis, Dorothy Pineg ar of Florida, Bonnie Powell of Terre Haute and Donnie Bray of Brazil.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at the New Life Baptist Cur ch in Greencastle on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Bobby Pell and the R ev. Robert Davies officiating. The church is located on Martinsville Stre et in Greencastle. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Associati on or the Gideons.
Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home will assist with the arrangements. Glen Madison Jr. Monnett and Rosalind (Rose) Fuqua had the following children:
